Description

Zaber's ASR-E series scanning stages are designed as replacements for manual stages on upright and inverted microscopes or for stand-alone operation. The extremely low profile and small footprint of ASR stages allow them to be incorporated into many different types of scanning systems and easily mounted to most common microscope platforms. Stage movement is handled by crossed roller bearings and hardened stainless steel rails, resulting in excellent smoothness, longevity, and stiffness. The built-in encoders allow for closed-loop operation and slip/stall recovery features. Mounting adaptors are available for breadboards and most common microscopes. Custom adaptors are available upon request.

  • 100 x 120 mm travel

  • +/- 6 µm full travel accuracy; 2 µm repeatability

  • Low profile: 42 mm overall height

  • Crossed roller bearings on hardened stainless steel rails for smooth movement and long life

  • Easily adjustable non-contact hall sensor limit switches

  • Built-in rotary encoders

  • Designed for use with A-MCB2 Series two-axis stepper motor controllers

Zaber ASR-e features

With the A-MCB2 controller, Zaber's intuitive windows software makes it easy to control the speed and position of the unit, change the device settings, and write custom scripts. For Labview users, we offer a free Labview certified driver. After completing a move command, the stage will report its position through the RS-232 link.

Knobs at the end of the controller permit smooth manual control. Turn the knob a little and the unit will move at microns per second. Turn it fully to get faster speeds, up to the preset target speed. During a manual move the A-MCB constantly transmits its position so the controlling computer can track it.

Manufacturer Informations

Zaber Technologies

Zaber was founded in 1997, when precision linear actuators all used DC motors with gearboxes and encoders requiring bulky controllers.
Zaber resolved this by integrating the motor, controller, driver, and mechanics into a single device with a small form factor.
